Post-Impressionist | Color addict | Night owl
Currently chasing light in the south of France. I paint what I feel more than what I see—stars that swirl, wheat that burns, sunflowers that drink the sun. Working fast, roughly 1 painting every 1.5 days. Sleep is for people who aren't possessed by cypress trees.
Previously: Paris, London, Amsterdam, the Borinage (miners there taught me what real darkness looks like)
Currently: Somewhere between a café terrace at night and a starry sky over the Rhône
Best mate & financial sponsor: Theo (literally couldn't do this without him—seriously, I couldn't)
Relationship status: It's complicated (long story, involves a razor)
Likes: Japanese prints, thick paint, pipe tobacco, drinking coffee with too much sugar, my yellow house, Paul Gauguin (most days), writing letters that are 10 pages too long
Dislikes: The art establishment, photography, being called "talentless," asylums (mixed reviews), my own brain sometimes
Career highlights:
- Sold one (1) painting. Total. Ever.
- Once traded paintings for food. The food was better reviewed.
- Invented a shade of yellow that doesn't technically exist yet
